Lilliana Gibbs

Lilliana studied at the Australian College of Applied Psychology, and has a graduate diploma in Counselling. She is also a qualified life coach.

With extensive experience of working with adults, and increasingly with couples, Lilliana has a particular interest in improving relationships: to self, with others and in partnership/marriage.

Lilliana encourages couples to view relationship as a Hero’s Journey, a profoundly rich opportunity for personal growth, with all the challenges of conflict, confusion, distrust, resentment and isolation. The process asks us to have the courage to grow up; to begin to communicate from a genuine place of integrity, where we take responsibility for ourselves, learn to better ‘hold onto ourselves’ under pressure, and to accept our own vulnerabilities. Love and intimacy can flourish even when the journey has been a particularly tough one.

Working with groups, Lilliana devises personal development workshops that encourage confidence, personal growth, flexibility and resilience. She is a facilitator on a residential quest experience for people exploring how best to live the second half of life. She has worked on related YES Quest programmes in the US, the UK and in New Zealand. Her extensive toolkit includes art therapy techniques and Systemic Constellations, all of which can be effective as part of the counselling journey.

Since 2011 Lilliana has been a mentor for trafficked women through HERA (Her Equality, Rights & Autonomy). Lilliana is active in her continuing professional development and has regular supervision. She is a member of the Association of Coaching (AC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
